What this study site does with your data, in plain words — which is very little, because it is built to collect almost nothing about you.
This site is built to collect almost nothing about you. Groundwork is a static ASWB practice site: there are no accounts, no login and no paywall, and the practice quiz runs entirely in your own browser. You can read every page and answer every practice question without ever telling us who you are. This policy lays out — in plain words, the same way a good exam-day checklist tells you exactly what to bring — what little we do handle, the things we deliberately do not do, and how to reach us about any of it.
Last updated · September 2026. When we change something that matters, this page changes with it and this date moves — there is no quiet edit.

What this site collects
Here is the entire list, because it is short enough to fit in a single table. If a row is not below, this site does not collect it.

Most of what a typical site gathers — accounts, profiles, behavioural tracking, advertising identifiers — simply is not here to gather.
On your device
The practice quiz runs on your device
The quiz on this site is old-fashioned in the one way that matters for your privacy: it runs in your browser. When you choose an answer, your browser checks it against the built-in question bank and shows you the explanation right there, on the spot. Nothing about which questions you saw, which you missed, or how long you took is transmitted to us — there is no server on the other end of it listening. That is also why your progress does not follow you from one device to the next: it was never uploaded in the first place.

What the servers see
Serving a web page means a computer somewhere receives your request and answers it, and that exchange leaves an ordinary record. Our hosting and content-delivery provider processes standard request data — the IP address a request came from, the kind of browser and device, the page asked for and the time — to deliver the site and to defend it against attacks and abuse. This is the plumbing every site on the internet runs on. We do not build it into a profile of you, we do not enrich it with anything that would single you out, and we keep no separate analytics record of our own on top of it.

If you write to us
The one place you might hand us something personal is email. Write to hello@pass-aswb.com — to flag a question that looks wrong, report a bug, or ask about this policy — and we use your message and your address for a single purpose: answering you. We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not sell or rent your address, and we do not pass your message beyond the small team behind it. If your email includes a screenshot or a detail about how you are studying, it goes no further than the person writing you back. When you are done with the thread, tell us to delete it and we will.
The app
The Groundwork app
There is a separate Groundwork practice app for iOS. It is its own product, distributed through Apple’s App Store, and what it handles on your phone is described on its App Store listing and inside the app itself — not governed by this page, which covers this website. There is no Android app, so on Android or a desktop the free on-site quiz is the whole experience. Downloading the app is the one point at which a third party — Apple — sits between you and us, and their handling of that download is theirs to describe.
No tracking, no selling
What this site does not do
A privacy policy is as much about the absences as the collection, so here is the list of things that are deliberately switched off:
- No analytics. No Google Analytics, no page-view counter, no heatmap, no session recorder runs on this site.
- No advertising trackers. No ad pixels, no retargeting tags, no third-party marketing scripts — nothing following you off this site.
- No tracking cookies. The site does not set cookies to identify or profile you.
- No accounts. Nothing to sign up for — so no password, profile or history for us to hold, leak or lose.
- No selling data. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, because we do not gather the kind that would make a product.
Your choices
Your control
Because so little ever leaves your device, most of your privacy on this site is already in your own hands. The practical levers:
Wipe your practice history
Clear your browser’s site data for this domain, or use a private / incognito window, and every trace of your quiz sessions on that device is gone. There is no server copy to chase, because there never was one.
Ask about your email
If you have written to us and want to know what we still hold, or want it deleted, email and ask. It is a short conversation — the answer is usually ‘only the thread you started.’
Exercise a legal right
Depending on where you live, data-protection law may give you rights to see, correct or delete personal data a site holds on you. Since we hold essentially none tied to your identity, this is mostly moot — but if you want to make a request, email us and we will help rather than send you in a circle.
Updates
Updates to this policy
If this policy changes, the version you are reading changes with it and the ‘last updated’ date near the top moves. We are not going to quietly start collecting more and leave the old wording standing. There is no account to email a notice to, so the honest signal is the date itself: if it is recent and you have not changed how you use the site, nothing about your data has changed either.

Does this site use cookies?
Not for tracking. The site does not set cookies to identify you, profile you, or follow you across the web. The practice quiz may keep your progress in your browser’s local storage, on your own device, which stays with you and never reaches us.
Do you sell or share my data?
No. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not hand it to advertisers or data brokers. There is very little to begin with — no accounts, no analytics profile — and none of the little there is goes anywhere for money.
Does the quiz track how I answer?
Not on our end. Your answers are scored in your browser and stay there. We do not receive a record of which questions you saw or how you did — the quiz runs entirely on your device.
What about the iOS app’s privacy?
The app is a separate product distributed through the App Store, and its data practices are described on its App Store listing and within the app. This policy covers this website. There is no Android app.
How do I ask a privacy question or delete my email?
Email us at hello@pass-aswb.com and say what you want. If you have written to us before and would like that correspondence deleted, ask, and we will remove it.
